Accessing Web3

How to setup Metamask and create your TacVue Entity

Creating an Entity

In order to create your first Entity, you must have an approved cryptocurrency wallet. An entity is an on-chain access token that holds all relevant data to access your TacVue account. This NFT is transferable so it does not include RXG token holdings with the purchase of said asset.

We will cover how to register your TacVue Entity using Metamask, our recommended wallet for new users.

Registration Guide

What is Metamask?

Metamask wallet is the most popular EVM-compatible wallet and allows users to trade cryptocurrencies and access decentralized applications. It has cross-network capabilities as well as a mobile application that works well for users on the go.

How do I set up Metamask on Avalanche Network?

How do I access TacVue?

  1. To start, you should visit the Metamask official site. You should create a Metamask wallet and add the Chrome browser extension from the official website.

  2. Once you have Metamask set up, you will need to add the Avalanche Network to your Metamask wallet so you can access lower gas fees and faster transaction speeds that Avalanche offers. Please visit Chainlist to add Mainnet & Fuji Testnet.

    1. If you are attempting to access the Test site in order to earn feedback rewards, please search and add Avalanche Fuji Network to your Metamask. Make sure to select this Network instead of Ethereum when accessing the test site.

    2. If you are attempting to access the Beta, please add Avalanche Mainnet. This network will reflect real AVAX although it does not require a purchase in order to get involved.

  3. Testers will need to load up on test tokens in order to interact with the site. Please visit the AVAX Testnet Faucet and paste your Public Key into the designated area.

  4. If you are trying to enter the Beta platform on Mainnet, you will be required to load up on AVAX tokens. The most popular way of doing this (currently) is by purchasing AVAX on Coinbase and transferring them to your Metamask using your Public Key.

  5. Visit TacVue, connect your Metamask wallet and you're ready to enter the world of Web3.

  6. You will then proceed with Entity creation which acts as your digital identifier moving forward.

  7. Welcome to the Multiverse!

What is a Public Key?

Your Public Key works similar to your home address. If you provide it to another party, they can easily send you digital assets (peer-to-peer). However, you can also get spammed with unverified digital assets if you give your address out on public forums. Please be careful to treat it as you would treat your own address.

NOTE: Never interact with any digital assets that are unknown to you, even if they appear in your wallet. While your public address cannot be used to gain access to your account, Metamask users should be careful about airdropped tokens. Treat these as you would a scam you receive in the mail. DO NOT INTERACT WITH IT.

What is a Private Key?

This is similar to your security system's safety code. Do not share this with anyone.

This code allows you to prevent intruders from obtaining your digital assets and allows for you to enable Metamask access on new devices. This will be assigned to you when you setup your first wallet and should be stored securely offline. Please do not share this with unverified third-parties.
